Baptism

Baptism is the sacrament of initiation by water and the Holy Spirit into Christ’s Body, the church.  In the Episcopal Church, persons of any age may be baptized.  If you would like to learn more or make arrangements with our priest, click on the link at the bottom of this page

Confirmation

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which candidates express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.  Each year one of our bishops from the Diocese of Alabama visits Grace to offer the rite of Confirmation.  In anticipation of that visit, we offer a short preparation course on Sunday mornings that covers Episcopal history, theology, worship, and other aspects of the Christian life.  All are invited to attend.

Weddings

Christian marriage is a solemn covenant between two persons entered into in the presence of God and lived out in the support of the Christian community.  Couples seeking to be married at Grace should schedule an appointment to speak to our rector as soon as possible to learn about the requirements for marriage in the church.

Funerals

Grace offers services of Christian burial in praise to God, in thanksgiving for the life of a departed loved one, and in the hope of the Resurrection.  Should you lose a family member, we can work with you to carry a beautiful funeral service or memorial service for them in the church.  Please contact the rector or church office.  Your loved one’s ashes may also be interred in our columbarium or scattered in our memorial garden.  It’s never too soon to make your own funeral and burial plans.  Our rector can guide you through that process.
